At first I loved this player - Pandora/Netflix/Blu-Ray picture was fine.. but the constant firmware issues plagued my experiance, and to top it off it will not play DVD's after 6 months of owning it. Or I should say DVD's play for about 10 minutes and regarless of condition / skip / freeze up. It will play Blu-Ray just fine, and I've done all their steps (firmware/updates) even cleaned the lens. Samsung's fix? Send it in for about a $200 repair. Most likely my last Samsung product.

the player worked great for the first few months and the firmware did not have the netflix or pandora streaming apps, but then started having problems stopping half way through some DVDs.
so i installed the latest firmware using internet connection and now both DVDs and Blu rays fail part way through playing a disk or lockup while loading.
the new firmware did load in netflicks and pandora apps which both work well but the 2550 is a supposed to be a blu ray and DVD disk player not just a streaming device.
I've looked on the internet and so far I have not found a fix for the samsung firmware "upgrade".
and it seems that samsung is not making the 2550 anymore.
Buy something other than a Samsung with this kind of support (LACK OF, after a bad design) I'll be staying away from Samsung.

Thus far, I have had this player (the 2550 w/ Pandora) since December 2008 and have had only one problem which was easily rectified. The only problem I had was sometimes through a movie, it would behave as if the disk was dirty, stuttering, pixelization, freezing for a few seconds, etc... The cause was rather simple: The unit was overheating because it was on top of my Onkyo receiver. Moved the player to a more thermally inert location and have not had a recurrence any symptoms except for rental disks that actually were dirty/scratched.
Overall this player has turned out to be an exceptional unit for bringing our DVD, BluRay, Netflix streaming as well as Pandora music into one easy-to-sue box (which significantly improves the WAF - Wife Acceptance Factor).
The only con this unit for are load times, but seriously... unless you are changing discs every few minutes then the extra few seconds really matter very little in the great scheme of things. Now if I could do streaming from other sources too (DLNA anyone?) or Blockbuster, then it would be outstanding.

I have researched Samsung Blu Ray players since purchasing this piece. And I have found MANY instances of people complaining about playback problems. I can take a NEW Blu Ray disc out of a box and it might take 4 or 5 tries to even get it to load the disc. IF YOU CAN get the disc to load it WILL freeze throughout the movie.
I am TELLING YOU this is the worst product EVER.
The netflix streaming is great, but the playback on this player is absolute garbage.
I have ALL the firmware updates. I have been in contact with Samsung and completed all of their troubleshooting tips.
From the message boards online these players just aren't very good.

I just found the 2550 BD player as an open box item at my local B.Buy. I bought it for $200, took it home and plugged in my Ethernet cable from my router. Turned it on and updated the firmware ( it detected the available update automatically) to ver. 2.5.
Set-up a free 2-week trial Netflix account on my PC then set up the Netflix in the menu on the player. I was given a code to enter at the Netflix web site and bingo! Streaming Netflix vids galore!! I watched Night at the Museum blu-ray and it was awesome! I have it hooked up to a Pioneer 5010FD HDTV.
Have not yet tried the Pandora web radio feature but I will update this review after I give it a whirl. Highly recommended - if you can find one! They were discontinued on Apr. 22 at the B. Buy where I purchased this player.
UPDATE: This blu ray player was a DUD. It would not play several blu ray disks even after the software was updated, so I had to return it - which is a shame considering the nice features. I bought a Roku and a Sony BDP to replace it.
