I purchased this item last week for $449.99 and price dropped to $399.99. Before you buy anything in Amazon, be carefull. NO PRICE MATCH and Return Policy sucks (No satisfaction quarantee). Only buy in Amazon if you do not want to return the item. I would have returned this in BestBuy or any other store without any questions and got my money back.

I got this system the other day, and absolutely love it. It is worth the extra $50 to get a great game and another 80 gigs will help for gaming and storage. Uncharted is an absolutely beautiful game and alot of fun! It reminds me a better version of tombraider. The game feels like a movie on some parts and the colors just explode from the game and the backgrounds are amazing. Probably one of the better games out there, i can't wait for the 2nd one already. PS3's bluray player is great as well and doesn't take long to load movies at all, and can easily be updated with wifi or a cable wire into the system. I love my new ps3!

I recently upgraded to HD with a Mitsubishi Diamand 52-inch TV and a Denon AVR 1910 receiver. I purchased the PS3 mainly for its Blu-ray capability. While I am awaiting my first NetFlix Blu-ray disc, I was very impressed with the PS3 upscaling DVD upscaling capability while watching Austin Powers Goldmember and Saving Private Ryan. The video quality is far better than my old standard def system, I believe the DTS 5.1 audio quality is also better. The Blu-ray remote control works fine. So, thus far, I agree with the many reviews that suggest PS3 to be a super option for Blu-ray capability.
Completely new to gaming, I will explore that potential in coming weeks. After unpacking and connecting the system, I immediately followed the cue to the latest software update. The game "Pain" downloaded without trouble using the voucher code. The Playstation network registration worked fine.
Just to share more with those who are interested, I am currently only using broadcast TV (1080i and 720p) with hi-def TiVo and Netflix (one movie at a time + Blu-ray for $10.99/month (can get up to two discs a week with this plan through the mail and unlimited streaming)). For me, this package of programming is robust and all I need. While I love playing sports, I'm not a big fan of watching them and don't find a need for the multiple sports channels offered by cable or satellite. Therefore, time-delaying broadcast news, serials and sitcoms, along with Blu-ray, DVD and streaming movies, and now Playstation gaming, seems to be the most high-quality and cost-effective programming bundle I can find.
