"Its gotta work to be any good" 2009-08-18
By Scott Vandeventer (California)
Bought this box with a 46" LCD from Samsung. Liked it out of the box. Nice integration. However, 7 months into its life, the unit stopped loading disks. Downloaded new firmware--nothing. Called Samsung to get warranty service within the year and no deal. They said this malfunction isnt included in the warranty. I asked the boys at Best Buy where I bought the gear about this. They said buy LG. They get 4-5 of the Samsung Blu-ray back of even model for every LG. And, they sell more LG because of it. They even encouraged posting a review on their site. Samsung has a good TV, but watch the gray spots in Blu-ray warranty coverage. I never would have thought this wouldnt be covered. Bad Samsung!

 "Don't buy this bargin" 2009-07-30
By Steven Kovar
I bought this blu ray player this past December. Everything worked just fine until we did the first firmware upgrade. After the upgrade one of our blu ray movies (Iron Man), stopped working. I eventually bought Terminator 1, the player skips through about 1/3 of the movie. A new firmware update came out a few months ago, after this some of my standard DVDs stopped working. I have tried to contact Samsung and all I hear from them is, "please wait for the next firmware update and see if this corrects you issue."

I am at the point now where I want Samsung to purchase a Sony blu ray player for me, which I know wont happen, because it is absolute ridiculous that they can sell a dysfunctional Blu ray player and not offer any kind of real support. SAVE YOU MONEY AND BUY A SONY!

"You Wont Like Me When I'm Warming Up!" 2009-07-28
By L. Ducker (Sanford, FL USA)
Hello, I bought this product on 2/19/2009 today's date is 7/28/2009. Up until now I have very minor complaints about the product. I think it takes a while to load the movies and it is very sensitive! The picture is beautiful though! I cannot argue that! However I have now run into a new problem that has really made me disappointed with Samsung! Now anytime I am watching a dvd doesn't matter if it's a bluray or not, the entire picture goes GREEN!! Just like the hulk I kid you not. It's not the just picture that goes green either it's the display for the DVD player as well. I have no idea what is wrong with it but I know it's less than a year old and it shouldn't be doing this! If I were someone buying this, take my advice, I know you want to save a few bucks, but spend the extra getting a up'd model!
